For centuries humans have had a close and beautiful relationship to the earth and her plants. Many of the healing ways of ancient cultures have been long forgotten, yet luckily still a few remain that we may include in our daily lives to heal ourselves, the planet and remember where we once came.
We believe that the condition of our planet is directly correlated to the condition of the human heart. Cacao is a way to bring us back to the heart and back to most true selves.

This cacao is unlike any other. With its smooth and bright notes, we like to explain it as having a fruity finish and earthy undertone while also having a wild and robust flavor.

Our ceremonial grade cacao is wild harvested in Ecuador
This cacao is grown in the wild Amazon jungle of Ecuador. The trees growing this Arriba Nacional variety of Cacao are 50-150 years old and only spring and rain water fed. This specific variety of heirloom cacao is an ancient original cacao species long before any hybridizations were created.
No pesticides ever! for every tree is wild and growing with the land regeneratively and sustainably. Sustainable harvests means that there is never over harvesting and the trees and ecosystems are left in the healthiest way to continue the life and forest as it is intended by nature.
All harvesting is done by local Ecuadorians who are all paid above fair trade wage standards. Donkeys are used to carry the cacao back from 1-3 day hikes into the mountains and jungles where the cacao trees live.
The fermentation process is done in a style called wild fermentation, or nature style. During this process there is zero crop loss during and no bacteria is ever used to start the fermentation. After the cacao has been fermented, it is then made into cacao paste on a large marble stone grinder.
